Guide to Implement a Cross-Collaborative Design Process

Whenever I begin a project, I start with small, inexpensive attempts and experiments, allowing me to feel comfortable with the possibility of failure, learn from it, and adapt the process.

To bring that mentality into cross-collaborative designs, I take one step at a time. Instead of sharing a grand idea and project, I start with one group task, followed by another.

At each stage, I ask questions, test ideas, and use simple tools to plan and create prototypes of products or services (or mock-ups and maps) that benefit both the business and its clients or customers. Read more

Umbra's flagship concept store is in Toronto's Queen West district. The Toronto-based home accessories design and manufacturing company has a global presence.

One of the top design centres in the world, Toronto employs 24,700 designers who collectively earn $2.4B in annual wages. The diverse sector - made up of architects, landscape architects, graphic designers, fashion designers, and industrial and interior designers - has grown faster than its counterparts elsewhere in Ontario or Canada. New Hire
We are excited to welcome Luiza Danielian to the CDN team! Luiza will be contributing to the development of the architectural design of our Studio product line.

CDN is preparing a series of design competitions for 2025. Our first event—a Graphic Design Competition—will launch in mid-summer. Details on additional competitions will be announced later this summer.
