While, with all the snow the city’s gotten over the past week, heading out and spending time in the great outdoors is certainly not for the faint of heart, sunnier days are just around the corner — and that means it’s time to start discovering all the ways you can have fun in the fresh air this spring and summer.
Where better to do exactly that than at the Outdoor Adventure Show, Canada’s biggest expo featuring outdoor activity exhibitors, travel presentations and shopping.
Whether scuba, rafting, climbing, camping or anything in between has your heart, you’ll find it at the Outdoor Adventure Show, taking place over the course of an entire weekend with over 100 presentations and more than 300 exhibitors.
The show is home to 12 different zones, each of which features exhibitors specializing in a particular destination or sport.
You’ll be able to learn more about the exciting adventures waiting for you on home turf at the Explore Canada, Ontario Outdoor Adventure Travel Pavillion, and Northern Ontario Zone, or take things international at the likes of the International Adventure Travel Zone, Scuba and Caribbean Adventures Zone or U.S. Pavillion.
One particular highlight can be found at the Paddler’s Paradise Zone, where canoe, kayak and SUP demonstrations will take place over the course of the show in an interactive, 1500 square-foot pool.
There are also a number of thrilling presentations taking place over the course of the weekend, including impressibe demonstrations and lessons at the Whitewater Demo Pool, survival tip talks and seminars at the Best of Canada Adventures Stage and talks that’ll feel like you’ve booked a first-class ticket to breathtaking international destinations.
When it’s time to unwind from all the excitement, you can harness up and scale the 30-foot climbing wall, or head to the campfire for live performances from a variety of Toronto-based musicians.
If keeping yourself cooped up to hide from the cold is making you yearn for the great outdoors, this is the perfect place to spark some joy.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 21 and 22, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at the International Centre just on the border of Toronto and Mississauga at 6900 Airport Road.
Tickets are available online now, with regular admission priced at $16 (or $18 at the door) for one day, or $20 ($22 at the door) for a two-day pass. Children 11 and under can attend for free.
