Pretty Doesn’t Fix Broken

It was there from the beginning, even if no one noticed.
It manifested itself in different ways: shaping thoughts, evoking emotions, and quietly accompanying human life.
Design grew with every stage of society, learning, evolving, and expanding until it became one of the great pillars of the modern world.
Today, it can be summed up in six letters: design.
But in reality, it is much more than that; it is a part of each and every one of us. Some have yet to discover it, while others make a living from it, crossing borders, leaving their mark, and transforming people, concepts, countries, and nations.
Over time, design has found different ways to exist: in fashion, in art, in architecture, in technology, and in every idea capable of conveying something to the world. Regardless of language or culture, it always finds a way to connect with people and remain in the memory of those who observe it.
People have always tried to judge it without really knowing it. For that reason, design has often tried to fit in, attempting to convince the world of everything it can do.
In that process, it has made thousands of mistakes: overloading itself with colours, handling too much information, or speaking in different visual “languages” to try to be understood by everyone.
Sometimes it follows unnecessary trends without regard for comfort, functionality, or even its true essence. At other times, it takes too many risks in its desire to show itself to the world, creating spaces, styles, and forms that don’t always achieve the desired result.
However, amidst those mistakes, design also learns.
It often strives for perfection without realizing that some of the best ideas are born precisely from mistakes. A bad stroke, an unexpected colour, or a risky decision can end up being part of the final result without necessarily being a negative thing.
Over time, design came to understand that what truly makes it special is not resembling others, but remaining authentic in all its forms. Each of its branches possesses distinct techniques, efforts, and characteristics that would not hold the same value if they tried to fit into a single mould. And perhaps that is why, unable to fully adapt to the world, it ended up creating its own within it.
In the end, design created its own world: one filled with artists, ideas, and emotions constantly growing.
Through paper, a screen, or the creator’s hands, it began to express itself in different ways, transforming thoughts into something visible to others.
Over time, it understood everything it was capable of doing and how it could influence the world simply by being authentic. It was discovered that behind every colour there are hidden feelings and that every shape possesses an intention capable of conveying something different.
No matter the field, fashion, painting, architecture, or graphic design, design continues to evolve, inspiring and allowing each person to find their own way to express themselves.
Its world is full of possibilities, where limitations often disappear, and ideas can become identity, emotions, or even memories.
It has the power to clothe bodies, transform spaces, capture moments, and demonstrate that even in the midst of chaos, there is always a way to create something beautiful.
Because in the end, design has also learned that a simple idea can become art, and that a story can begin with even the tip of a paintbrush.
